Company, also known as simplesmenteDisney, is the largest media and entertainment conglomerate in the world, known for its family-friendly products. Founded on October 16, 1923, by brothers Walt Disney and Roy Disney as an animation studio, has become one of the largest Studios deHollywood and owner and licensor of eleven theme parks and several television networks like ABC and ESPN, as well of recently acquired Marvel Entertainment Inc. for $ 4 billion. The corporate headquarters of Disney and its primary production facilities are located in the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, California. The company is part of the Dow Jones Industrial Average since May 6, 1991. Mickey Mouse is the official mascot of The Walt Disney Company.
Resorts and theme parksIn chronological order of construction:Disneyland Resort: Disney First tourism complex in the world.Opened in July 17, 1955, consists of two theme parks: Disneyland Park and Disney's California Adventure. It has three hotels on your property and a complex of nightlife: Downtown Disney. It is the only Resort Walt Disney saw it open.Walt Disney World Resort: Opened on 1 October 1971 in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., is the largest tourist destination in the world, with four theme parks: Magic Kingdom, EPCOT Center, Disney-MGM Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom . In addition to two water parks, downtown nightlife (Downtown Disney), more than 22 hotels and more.
Tokyo Disneyland Resort: It was the first park complex to open outside the United States. It is controlled by the Walt Disney Company in partnership with OrientalLand. It has two parks: Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea Park.
Disneyland Resort Paris: Opened on April 12, 1992 in the town of Marne-la-Vallee, near Paris. It has two theme parks: Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios, and a center of night life: Disney Village. The Disneyland Resort Paris draws more visitors than any other tourist spot in Europe. It has more visitors than the Eiffel Tower itself.
Hong Kong Disneyland: It is controlled by the Walt Disney Company and the Hong Kong government. It is on Lantau Island, China, and was opened in 2005. It has so far only one park: Hong Kong Disneyland Park and two hotels.Disney Cruise Line: Opened in 1998, currently operates three ships: Disney Wonder, Disney Magic and Disney Dream. Two ships were built in Italy by Fincantieri shipyard Venetian.
